Being A Writer
Being a writer both implies and involves many different things. Creativity, laziness, delving into the depths of the mind, releasing souls...a whole bunch of things. For some reason, whether it's perception or truth that is being written, or perceived to have been written, carries no meaning.
Whatever the fashion one writes in, the world seems to be an amplification of its own self. It just makes you more sensitive to all the smaller and bigger things one enjoys, but not by much. One already enjoys those things anyway, but writing amplifies it...just enough to notice a slightly greater pleasure. There are, however, thorns on even the most tended roses.
Putting pen to paper, or fingers to keys, also puts one in a more direct contact with all the things one dwells or reflects upon morosely, but very greatly so.
Standing in a room full of people, some sitting, some standing, some talking, some laughing, some listening. They all share one thing in common that you don't. They have someone beside them that loves it when you stroke their arm a little, or nudge them, or even to move their chair closer to yours just to be closer to you when things have died down and people are just talking and laughing at stories being told.
Such moments when you too want to nestle against someone as you sigh seem to tear through your own heart as equally so as it would actually getting the chance to do so.
However, even if you were with a person like that, there's still something called life. Anything one could possible acquire a melancholic emotion to remains...and is given a greater detail. This is something every borne writer frequents and thus understands the true bliss ignorance has to offer.
By saying ignorance, perhaps I refer to it more closely to regret than any other. Telling your story, no matter the circumstance or station, includes the undeniable amplification of one's complete self.
In short, whatever you do, don't pick up a pen unless you are strong enough to be made truly happy by the happiest moments as well as truly and fully saddened by the worst.
