Your Eyes
Soft in the morning light
they gaze into my soul
they find (although i though that no one could)
the truth that lies within. A not so distant truth
which longhence forbidden to dance, to laugh, to cry.
Those were all banished-and yet a revolution has
filled the air and one glorious disenchanting
glance has set my soul ablaze. I do not know
who you are. Your eyes are my
only memory, so soft, so near.
